Are you ready to RUMBLE ?
This is the 3rd Edition of the
Residency Rumble. We’ve now run 2 rounds of the PRESENT RESIDENCY RUMBLE the last 2 years for all those who use PRESENT Courseware. It was a more select group during rounds 1 and 2, but PRESENT COURSEWARE is now used by nearly the entire US podiatric residency community...so the RUMBLE is now literally a contest for all US podiatric residents. This year’s prizes include a computer projector that will allow your program to set up an "educational theater" with which to view the weekly PRESENT lectures in groups, and iPods galore for the semi-finalists and finalists. The greatest prize is bragging rights that your program defeated all the others in the tournament ladder and ended up as the 2006 RESIDENCY RUMBLE CHAMPION.
We’ve learned a lot from prior rounds of the RUMBLE and have greatly improved the process
this year. See the RULES
section below to see what has been changed this year. In a nutshell, you are no longer bound to answer the questions at exactly 9PM EST. Speed is still important, but you now have 24 hours to get your colleagues together to submit your responses to each round. The time starts when you log in and press a button that says, "Ready, Set, Go".

RULES
Review these carefully, contestants. The Rules have been changed
this year, to make the RUMBLE EASIER for you to participate in.
We encourage you to review the
RULES. If you’ve reviewed the RULES, you know that the answers are scored with
accuracy being the first priority, and
speed the 2nd priority. So a program that gets 5 out of 5 correct will always beat a program that gets 4 out of 5 correct, but submits their responses faster. You have 24 hours to submit your answers, but this year,
the timer doesn’t start until your program logs and clicks the Ready, Set, Go button anytime during the 24 hour period. The contest continues for your program from Tuesday Noon to Wednesday Noon each week for 7 weeks, if you are not eliminated.
No longer do you have to be at the ready at 9PM EST on Tuesday nights. You can get your group together ANYTIME during the 24 hour period.

POOL YOUR TALENTS
We also encourage you to pool the talents of the residents in your program (not the attendings...be fair). Get all of your fellow residents together in one group, on one conference call, or connected with Instant Messaging. When your are ready to RUMBLE, login, click Ready, Set, Go to start the contest timer, look the 5 questions over, see if everyone agrees on the correct responses, and submit your responses as quick as you can.

The Grand Prize
for the finalist this go around is a state of the art 42 Inch Flat Screen LCD TV OR a Computer Projector.
Using this projector, you’ll be able to project PRESENT lectures up to 10 feet diagonal on a white wall or projection screen, so that ALL of the residents, attendings and others at your hospital can watch PRESENT lectures together.
Semi-finalists and finalists
