NOTE from Editor
Some family issues have kept me at home, but I
hope to join many of you at the ACFAS meeting in New Orleans later in the week.
I'll be spending some time at the PRESENT Courseware booth #501, so please do
come by and say hello. We're always looking for ways to make PRESENT
Courseware work better for you, so if you have any suggestions or just wish to
say hello, I'd love to meet you. Be sure to see
the results of the exciting 6th and FINAL Round of the Residency Rumble.
The winner came through with a perfect score and beat the runner up who
responded quickly, but missed 2 questions. Slow and steady, and smart,
won this race.... Finally, we have some
feedback for you on the interesting survey that we did last week, on the topic
of starting salaries for podiatrists. What do YOU think you'll be worth
upon finishing your residency ? Find out what others thought.
Please send any suggestions, thoughts, questions to me at:

WEEK 6 Answers
The questions in the last few rounds were very challenging. Check them
out...
Congratulations to the very
impressive St. Lukes Medical Center. To all of the rest of
the programs that began with us 6 weeks ago: Good show and better luck in
the next edition of the Residency Rumble.
PRESENT MEMBER SURVEY
Starting Salary for Podiatrists
We got some interesting results from you, our
members, from this week's survey, asking what you would consider to be a
fair offer as a
minimum guaranteed salary. We received 59 responses so far, (which,
considering that we have over 1000 resident subscribers to PRESENT Courseware, I
find disappointing...let's ALL participate and Residency Insight will be all the
more valuable to you) and the results are displayed below. Those of you
who for whatever reason didn't respond, we'd still like to add your opinion to
the results, so we've provided the link below. I've copied the results as
of 12:30PM 030905 here, but this is a live survey and you can click on the links
below to see the most current results or to give us your opinion.

In these preliminary results, you can see
the discrepancy between the expectations that you all have as to your worth to
the practices that hire young podiatrists, and your estimation of the reality
that you will face in the marketplace upon finishing your training. Be
sure to click on the link to the live survey results below and then click on the
word View at the lower left of
the tables to see the comments that you all wrote. They make some
interesting reading and provide some insight into how many of you plan to
approach the hiring salary negotiations.
We'd like to get more our your opinions on this issue
